What a great start on 2021, receiving an email on being awarded as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). This was how our CCO Merethe Stave started her year. We are proud to be able to congratulate Merethe as Office Apps & Services MVP for 2021. Through passion and enabling people to understand Microsoft technology better as a user group organizer and public speaker she has been recognized as an MVP. At the time of writing, all CloudWay employees are MVPs and we are very proud of creating a work environment for passionate individuals who loves to share their knowledge and encourage other to do so.
We asked her three questions on becoming an MVP
- What has motivated you to put in the effort required to be an MVP?
- I truly enjoy to see our community grow, to see people take their place and share with others what they know. There are so many changes and quick developments in technology these days, that none of us has the chance to keep up with everything. Still each of us can keep track of some of that innovation and knowhow, and when we put our knowledge together, we will all know more. I have always had a passion for learning and knowledge sharing, and I love to see people engaged, be inspired and see new possibilities. I believe in people and we have such a great community group, great people who have the same passion to share knowledge and I am here to serve my community. I am honoured and grateful to receive the MVP award. I see it as a recognition of the work done. At the same time it inspires me to work even more to bring others forward. I hope others will see that working with IT and technology can really be adventurous!
- What has been the most important for you in this journey?
- People, people and people, and technology. We talk about technology, and yet, many times it is all about helping people, to help them understand technology and what it can do, for them, in their every day life, and to see possibilities. To help them break barriers and tear down some silos. All the wonderful people I have met, have been important for me, all those I have learned from, challenged by, supported by has been the most important part of this journey, and it will continue to be so. The continuous development of the technology makes it never boring. There is always something more to learn, to stretch my brain. The fact that much of the technology and methods of learning and innovation is still uncharted territory, makes it even more exciting, as we have never had such times as these.
- Any first thoughts on what being an MVP would mean for you professionally?
- I hope being an MVP first of all inspire others to do the same, to choose technology and IT, to dare put their foot forward and be engaged. I will use it to nugde others and bring more people forward. As a subject matter expert it will bring me closer to the other MVPs and I hope I can be at help for the MVP team and contribute to a even stronger and bigger MVP team. I am looking forward to learn more from the other MVPs and hopefully bring some to the table too. It will also bring me closer to the core of Microsoft technology and perhaps I can bring some real life experiences that can help further develop and improve the technology, and vise versa; prepare peers and customers for the future by bringing them knowledge and competence. I just hope I can make a difference.
